Late afternoon and busy with mainly drinkers outside enjoying the fine weather. I found a free space at the bar which was to my advantage and enjoyed a gratis bowl of left over roast potatoes.

Oh dear, CAMRA will need to update their NI list, this pub has been wrecked beyond recognition. Gone are the snob screens and oak panelling, the £1.50 generously filled rolls, tungsten lamps replaced by ghastly bright LED's, the bar has been opened out and enlarged and the rear extension which was being built on my previous visit is now open. The only saving grace it still retains a pub atmosphere rather than a fancy restaurant with a bar. I regret not coming here more often during the 30 years or so since my first visit.
