With 10 mins before I had to meet Jane and Isabel I popped into the Red Cow. I can never really work this place out. It has a restaurant area, a pool table area and a bar that just has bar stools. Anyway, friendly with an interesting beer line up
Banks's - Mild | 3.50 | | I like Banks. I like their bitter. This mild was jolly good too. Hint of caramel, very low hopping and some watery body. Just want I want from a midland's mild. |

Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried

Very Nice Pub this with good local ales
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Czech Mate | 5.00 | | A very good pilsner crib with plenty of hoppy nose and full body |

My first visit to Sandwich, a very pleasant little town too. Very compact and very clean too I noted. Let the crawl begin! And this place was an impressive starter.
Acorn - Barnsley Gold | 4.30 | | This was the best here. |
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | | |
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20

It was about 3/4 full when we arrived but we still managed to get a table. It's a funny pub this as I don't think it's worked out if it's a pub or a restaurant. I like it anyway.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | | Smokey with a vodka bite to it. Some oak in the body but the vodka flavour dominates. Vodka/heather finish. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried

Came into Sandwich by bus hoping to go to at least 2 pubs but soon realised that the buses back were a bit erratic. Anyway this is a good pub. The barman told a group who couldn't decide what to have that they were welcome to try any of the beers before they bought. Jane and I ate here too and the food was good. They also sold bottles of Gadd's Dogbolter Porter.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | | Brown bitter colour. Smelt of mild malt. Earthy sharp hops dominate with a reedy malt background flavour. Long sharp bitter finish. Had 2 enjoyable pints. £3.00 a pint a little steep though. |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | Not Tried

Interesting pub with a roof that reminded me of a long boat. Slight lack of seating for drinkers but other than that quite good really.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | | Not my favourite Gadds beer but at least they had a local brew on. A bit base-bitter for me with a hard-water mouth feel to it. No.7 is much more my thing |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Greene King - Morland Old Speckled Hen | 4.50 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
