Arrived at midday and there were already people in eating. By 1pm it was busy. The menu is massive and so are the portions. The staff were friendly and the beer line-up interesting. Good pub.

Called in mid afternoon to escape the scorching heat. Sat outside the front door and watched the passing car drivers watching us.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Eastwood & Sanders - Nettlethrasher4.40GoodMid brown / golden bitter. Smooth feel in the mouth with a creamy, consistant head. This has an intense bitter finish, which raises it from the ordinary.
Ringwood - Razorback3.80AcceptableBrown bitter with light, foamy head. Just one of those bog standard ales, OK but lacks interest.
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale)4.20Not Tried
Tring - Jack O Legs4.20Not TriedWent off just as they were pouring my pint

Midweek lunchtime session was very busy with virtually all the customers eating. As this pub is known more for its food than its beer I was surprised to find 5 real ales available and not just the usual suspects either. The ales were all listed on a chalk board next to the entrance, with their ABVs so you could choose before getting to the bar. I only had time to try 2 as the chauffeur was getting restless, but I shall certainly return soon to try some others.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Elgood's - Mad Dog4.40GoodNot as fierce as the name might suggest. Lovely smooth pint, with a nice bitter aftertaste.
Hydes - Celebration4.00GoodLight, golden bitter with a clear hoppy taste. Easy to drink and well served
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale)4.20Not Tried
