Visits Details

13 Jun 2019 (McGargle)
Busyish late evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tiny Rebel - Stay Puft5.20AcceptableSlightly cloying stout. Better without the marshmallow gimmick me thinks.
05 Jun 2019 (McGargle)
Prices are becoming silly in this all keg outlet so choose with care.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Stigbergets - First Stout on The Moon7.00GoodI enjoyed this but thought it drank more like a porter - too restrained for a stout. £5.35 a half.
28 Dec 2018 (McGargle)
Busy, late evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (a.k.a. Brasserie BFM) - Abbaye de Saint Bon Chien11.00PoorNot too impressed. Bit vinegary, bit intense. Well judged? I think not but maybe that's me.
25 Oct 2017 (McGargle)
Again too few staff.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cromarty - Happy Chappy4.10Good
Northern Monk - Bombay Dazzler4.80AcceptableDescribed as an Indian Witbier with(undetectable) hints of ginger, cardamom and coriander this was a strange one. Pleasant enough but the main flavour would best be described as either cherry cola or sasparilla.
20 Jan 2017 (McGargle)
Busy. Great beer list.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bristol Beer Factory - Southville Hop6.50ExcellentThis has stood the test of time so well. Fruity, hoppy and well balanced. The yardstick for judging all beers tried tonight.
Burning Sky - Imperial Stout8.50AcceptableNot big enough or bold enough. Disappointed. Maybe should have tried the Alpha State DIPA instead.
10 Mar 2016 (McGargle)
Friendly and informed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cloudwater - DIPA V29.00Not TriedAfter Lamb Karahi it would be unfair to rate this but the impressions were entirely favourable (keg).
08 Sep 2015 (McGargle)
Busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cromarty - Happy Chappy4.10ExcellentHoppy, clean, refreshing and none the worse a cool keg serve.
20 Aug 2015 (McGargle)
Busy. Lots of Havana users 'enjoying' the beer garden
BeerABVScoreNotes
AleSmith - X5.20GoodI like AleSmith beers. Their IPA is an old favourite but this was, indeed pale, but, at £18 a bottle, lacking in both depth and flavour.
28 May 2015 (McGargle)
Usual excellent beer choice. 24 taps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cloudwater - Citrus Gose5.50Not TriedAfter a South Indian thali it would be unfair to rate this but impressions were of a rather thin, flavour lacking beer.
19 Mar 2015 (McGargle)
Pleased to see it very busy late evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Weird Beard - Something Something Dark Side9.00ExcellentStout? Black IPA? Doesn't matter; smooth and tasyy from thee reliable Weirdys.
