Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

PedroGood22 Dec 2012 Surprised to still find this on sale as I understand Abigale have gone to the wall!
ChrisEExceptional03 Oct 2011 Truly exceptional, just the right temperature, and in very good condition. A most enjoyable tasty and refreshing pint.
PedroNot Tried16 Jul 2011
PedroGood14 May 2011
ChrisEGood07 Mar 2011 Very drinkable.
AndrewGood06 Mar 2011 Too warm which made me wonder if it had spent the night in the pipes. Rich and sharp. Took me a while to work out that the distinctive flavour it had was very similar to Harvey's yeastiness. Still waiting to find a well served pint of this so I can properly assess it.
ChrisEExcellent17 Jan 2011 A good drinkable Kentish ale.

AndrewPoor17 Nov 2012 The condition was okay but it just didn't taste like Samphire. It was dusty tasting and too warm.

AndrewGood11 Jun 2011 Very good condition and I really do want to love this beer but I think it just isn't to be my cup of tea. Slightly tart, toasted and tight. Nice.

AndrewExcellent12 Oct 2012 Excellent Samphire. Good condition with that hint of apple and signature dryness

AndrewExcellent22 Jun 2011 Best Samphire I've had yet
AndrewNot Tried20 May 2011
AndrewGood19 May 2011 With so many winners on at the bar I still plumped for this because I'm desperate to get a good pint of it. This pint was quite lively and had a toasted nut bite on the finish. There was a subtle but interesting malt body going on but the nut bite overtook it a little too much for my liking. Still, I like Samphire and it was a nice pint.

AndrewGood04 Feb 2011 Pale brown beer. Gooseberry tartness to it and hint of astringency. When I told ChrisE (who I later saw at the Dover beer festival) this he thought that perhaps I'd had an usual pint of it. I will make sure I try it again.
Martin the MildmanAcceptable04 Feb 2011 Amber bitter with some dry, hoppy bitterness but not much malt balance. My score 14/20.
