IanExceptional22 Jul 2010 Stupidly deliciously easy drinking IPA.

IanGood18 May 2010 Too cold but the tropical fruit was very good. OK condition only.
AndrewExceptional31 Mar 2010 Well this was top stuff. None of that Jif-lemon smell it seems to have at every beer festival I've seen it at. It had deep grapefruit flavours tempered really well with a heavy malty syrup and the heat of alcohol. Really well balanced; really good stuff.

Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, Central London

IanNot Tried18 May 2010
IanGood16 May 2010 A little bit more syrupy and a little less hoppy than I remember. I ended up mixing this with the Dark Star Hophead, which ended up a very good blend.
James TExcellent13 Apr 2010 As usual, ever reliable pint of Jaipur. I do love this stuff! Not the best form I've had it, ever so slightly dusty taste.

IanExcellent05 Feb 2010 First beer of the festival. Very good hoppy finish, but just not quite up to scratch with the flavour in the mouth.

WhingerExcellent21 Jan 2010 Delicious, and hoppy. I could easily drink too much of this stuff.
AndrewNot Tried20 Jan 2010
IanExcellent20 Jan 2010 Now I'm guessing that this is from the new plant in Bakewell rather than the old plant up at the Hall. As the beer opened up on pints 3 and 4 the tell tale drinkability of Thornbridge came through. 4 pints in 2 hours and I was very happy and satisfied and blissfully coccooned in hops and alcohol

BlairExceptional18 Jun 2009 This beer is such a grower, every pint I have I love it even more.
IanExcellent10 Jun 2009 First couple of pints out of the barrel were good, but didn't burst as it can. However, the 3.5 pints I took home were stunning. Fresh flowery hop, great structure and no real hint of 5.9% ABV. Really stunning.
AndrewNot Tried10 Jun 2009
BlairExceptional21 May 2009 Fantastic, light and intensely hoppy yet easy to drink.
MickExceptional16 May 2009 What can I say, one of my favourites and in perfect condition here, very hoppy but so smooth.
BlairExceptional14 May 2009 Third time I've tried this and it seems 3 really is a chamr. I finally see what everyone else sees in this beer. Beautifully light and hoppy.
MickExceptional09 May 2009 WOW! nothing else to add, superb, hop heaven.
IanExceptional22 Sep 2007 It may of only been a 4 on the Saturday night, but the bottle I took home and drank on the Sunday was an easy 5/5. The grapefruit is just stunning.

DubbelExcellent29 Sep 2009 Fresh, clean and the colour of a summer's day. Turbo grapefruit back in undisputable evidence. Now coming from the state-of-the-art new brewery and it's very nearly back to perfection.

DubbelExceptional01 May 2009 Magnificent, as ever. Demanded some take out. One of many in the cellar too.
DubbelExceptional21 Mar 2009 When pushed to give an answer, I would have to say that this is my favourite beer. Consistently supreme and oh so right with the curried goat.
DubbelExcellent05 Feb 2009 Most surprisingly, probably the only one of the Thornbridge brews sampled not to be on tip top form. The slightest haze ever so slightly dulled down that trademark grapefruit smack, although it could well have been the result of having it straight after the Kipling.
DubbelExceptional07 Nov 2008 4th or 5th cask on sale in the last six weeks. The regulars can't get enough of it! Sold incredibly well for such a strong beer. Would never get bored of the whiffy hop aroma, punchy grapefruit and rasping dry finish. A Desert Island Ale.

IanExcellent26 Jun 2009 It's funny, the more you like a beer, the more you have of it and then the more critical you become of it. Just a little syrupy on the alcohol I guess, but otherwise big hoppy biting and just lovely grapefruit.

DubbelExceptional24 Dec 2008 Outstanding again, fresh and punchy with that trademark epic hop finish. Hard to find a better IPA in 2008.

Kent Beer Festival 2008, Canterbury, Kent

WhoScoreWhenNotes
BrianExceptional18 Jul 2008 Started off the day with a pint. Oh yes! Ian told it wasn't as good as it can be, but this was the first time that I'd tasted it and it was amazing. One percent less good than the Dark Star APA. Stinging grapefruit, bright golden, bit of prickle if not fizz, the alcohol is disguised but hints of it right at the end.
IanExcellent18 Jul 2008 Good aroma of grapefruit, but when you've had it at the brewery tap, you get picky. Slight haze, should be fuller in mouth. Still good, but only a 4/5 as needs a touch more drinkability.

IanExceptional20 Oct 2005 Just about my beer of the festival. Intense hop aroma. Pale gold with lasting white head. Citric hop is lovely. Grapefruit. Terrific in mouth and finish is excellent. Some sweetish malt in mouth to balance. Then gorgeous hop finish. Alcohol makes it a tad too sweet. Not that good on day 2
