Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

McGargleAcceptable25 Apr 2024 Unusually, this is a Salopian beer I never get on with. It's that hint of lemon/lime on the finish.
McGargleAcceptable13 Oct 2023 Amber coloured and unremarkable. Unusual to find two ordinary Shropshire beers. The other was Fat Cat.
RayGood10 Oct 2013 Dark gold, fruity hoppy.
RayNot Tried06 May 2013
RayAcceptable26 Feb 2012 Surprised to find the flavours quite muted. No real hop lead and almost honeyed in the mouth.
RayGood29 Jan 2012 Mid golden ale with fruiy hop nose. Very bitter and hoppy in the mouth with an excellent citrussy finish.
RayGood13 Jul 2011 Light golden fruity ale but, perhaps, a little tired.
RayGood12 Aug 2010 Light copper fruity ale.

Bear & Ragged StaffGood12 May 2013 Typical Salopian.
Bear & Ragged StaffAcceptable18 Feb 2011 A golden brown, medium bodied ale. I found the taste a bit muddled - not a clean, crisp bitter but nevertheless a bitter. As confusing as the artistic movement it was presumably named after. Worth another try.
